Where we stand
Barette has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Content of that kind is removed, the account behind it is terminated without warning, the material is preserved for law enforcement, and the case is reported to NCMEC and to the authorities in the relevant country.
Barette carries user-generated content — Reels, comments, profiles and store listings — so this page publishes the standards Google Play requires of any app that does, and that we hold ourselves to regardless. The same standards also satisfy Apple's App Store Review Guideline 1.2 (Safety — User Generated Content), which asks for a way to report objectionable content, a way to act on the accounts behind it, and a published point of contact — all of which are below.
Barette is an adult product: you must be 18 or over to hold an account. It is not designed for, marketed to or rated for children.
Our standards
Barette is for adults
Our terms require you to be 18 or over, and the app is rated for adults. An account we find to belong to a minor is closed and its content removed.
Zero tolerance for CSAE
Child sexual abuse and exploitation material is prohibited without exception, in Reels, comments, profiles, store listings and messages. There is no warning and no second chance: the account is terminated.
Reporting inside the app
Every Reel carries a Report control, and Help & support reaches us about anything else. For child safety specifically, email the address at the bottom of this page — those reports are triaged ahead of every other queue.
Review and escalation
Reported content is reviewed by a human. Confirmed CSAE is removed, the account terminated, the material preserved for law enforcement, and the case reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the competent authority in the user's country.
A named point of contact
A designated child safety contact answers reports and requests from regulators, platforms and law enforcement.
Standards we publish and follow
These standards are public, reviewed at least once a year, and reflected in the moderation tooling — not just in this page.
How to report
You do not need an account to report something.
- In the app — tap the menu on a Reel and choose Report, or use Help & support for anything else.
- By email, for child safety specifically — safety@barette-ai-app.com, monitored every day and triaged ahead of every other queue. Include a link or a username; do not attach the material itself.
- Law enforcement and regulators — write to the same address with your authority and reference; we prioritise these and respond to lawful requests.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for that.
What happens next
- Triage. A report naming child safety is routed ahead of every other queue.
- Human review. A trained reviewer assesses it. Where the content is plainly violating, it is removed immediately while the review continues.
- Action. Confirmed CSAE means permanent termination of the account and every account we can link to it, plus removal of all its content.
- Preservation and escalation. The material and the account records are preserved for law enforcement and reported to NCMEC and to the competent authority in the user's country.
- Feedback. Where we can do it without compromising an investigation, we tell the reporter what happened.
An account terminated for CSAE is not eligible for reinstatement. Attempting to return under a new account is itself a violation.
How we prevent it
- An 18+ requirement in the terms, and closure of any account we find to belong to someone younger.
- A reporting control on Reels, and a monitored safety address for everything else.
- Moderation review of reported content, with child safety ahead of everything else in the queue.
- Prohibition of sexual content and nudity of any kind — a rule that removes the surface CSAE would hide in.
- Comments and Reels can be removed by moderators, and accounts restricted, while a review is in progress.
- An annual review of these standards, the moderation queue and the escalation path.
